A new hangout has arrived in College Park, Orlando called Mid Drive Dive. With its mid-century modern decor, this new spot has the feel of a by-gone era. Read on to see if this should be on your ‘must-go’ list.
Mid Drive Dive is touted as a place to gather with family and friends and enjoy fresh local food. The creators of this spot hope to make this your go-to neighborhood joint where you can relax and have a great time. You can feel the love and passion they have for this community!
With a focus on using locally sourced ingredients, you will find that their menu changes with the seasons. Which I love! That means you get the best of what Florida produces and you’re supporting our local farmers.
What Can You Expect At Mid Drive Dive?
Mid Drive Dive is the concept of 2 longtime East End Market tenants: Matt Hinkley (Hinkley’s Fancy Meats) and Jacob Zepf (The Neighbors). If you’re not familiar with The Neighbors, you need to check it out. Click here for more info on this chill spot!
Located in the College Park neighborhood at 2401 Edgewater Dr. Orlando 32804. They are open daily at 11am-10pm and 11pm on Fri-Sat. On Sundays 11am-5pm. We parked on the street but they also have parking around the back.
Every Tuesday you can join them for a ‘mom’s night out’ special…which is a double wine pour with a lil’ charcuterie board. And on Wednesday’s 6-8 they have live music from Will Patrick. And if you’re looking for a happy hour, they have ‘all-day’ happy hour on Mondays and a Tuesday-Friday happy hour from 3pm-6pm.
Mid Drive Dive has a unique menu, to say the least. They say they have an elevated American classic menu. So you can expect to see some traditional items like burgers, wings, and salads. (In fact, they feature a special ‘burger’ every day.)
But they also have lots of unique offerings like: Ceviche, Crispy Pig Ears, Duck a la King, Mahi Mahi, and Elk Burger! They also have a ‘blue plate special’ which changes daily according to the feedback they get from the community.
When we went we tried several of their ‘snack’ plates. We had to get the Crispy Pig Ears, Duck Liver Pate, Deviled Eggs, and Disco Duck Fries. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted so delicious….especially the Duck Fries! You definitely need to get those fries.
The cocktails at Mid Drive Dive are as unique as the food menu. We got the Albert’s G&T: pea flower gin, cucumber, lime, and elderflower tonic. This cocktail was as beautiful as it was delicious! And if you like martini’s you must try the Shady Lane Martini…it has gin, lillet blanc, cocchi americano, absinthe, orange bitters, and maraschino….so good!
I love this spot because its got roots in the community. Not pretentious or uncomfortable. You can bring your kids or your parents yet it’s still elevated and interesting enough to bring a date! It has a nice mix of small plates and ‘fancy’ cocktails or you can load up with beers and a burger…it’s a versatile place that’s sure to have something you’re craving.
