If you are familiar with Disney dining, you know they are pros when it comes to an immersive atmosphere. And Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ is no exception! It’s a unique dining experience that takes you into Andy’s room! Yes, you will become a toy in Toy Story! Kids and adults that are fans will absolutly love this expericence! It will certainly add a touch of adventure to your visit to Hollywood Studios. However, it’s important to note that this experience comes with a higher price tag. $45 per adult and $25 per child (3-9) plus tax and tip. And while the food comes in abundance, the prices may not be feasible for everyone. Those simply looking for a quick, budget-friendly meal may want to consider other options. That being said, Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ is certainly worth trying at least once for its lively theming and menu options! To make the most of your Woody’s Roundup experience, it’s recommended that you book your reservation well in advance. The restaurant tends to fill up quickly, so don’t wait until the last minute. And if you do find yourself without a reservation, don’t worry – you can always try to snag a spot on the walk-up list, though wait times can be upwards of an hour or more.
As soon as you step inside Woody’s Roundup, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another world. From the whimsical decor to the lively atmosphere, the experience is truly immersive. But what really sets this restaurant apart is its ability to make you feel like a toy in Andy’s room. For those who are unfamiliar, Andy is the young boy in the Toy Story movies who owns a collection of beloved toys. The restaurant’s designers have done an excellent job of recreating that same sense of playfulness and wonder. Everywhere you look, there are nods to the Toy Story franchise – from the giant Trixie triceratops that greets you at the entrance to the colorful murals on the walls. But it’s not just the decor that makes you feel like a toy. The restaurant’s whole design is reminiscent of a play area. The seating is arranged in a circular pattern around a central stage, creating the feeling of a gathering space for a group of toys. Even the servers, dressed in their cowboy hats and bandanas, give off a playful vibe. This is more than just a restaurant – it’s an experience. But let’s talk about the food…While we were absolutely starving, the first few bites hit my stomach like a ton of bricks. My first bites being the Prospector’s Cheddar Biscuits…yes, they were good! But i’m warning you..they must be loaded with something to expand your stomach! You’ve be warned! From there, 3 salads were brought out. A tomato salad, romaine and kale salad, and a watermelon salad. All were good, not great. The main event, of course, is the meats! It’s a platter of meat…smoked ribs, beef brisket, sausage, and bbq chicken. They were all very good. Not great, but what I expected from this type of mass produced meal. They also had 3 flavors of sauce on the table for the meat, regular, spicy, and sweet. We selected our 4 sides, spuds, mac and cheese, vegetables, and fried pickles. The spuds were the best of this bunch! Most everything lacked seasoning. When we had our fill of the main event, it was time for the desserts. Our lovely waitress brought out all the desserts! A lemon blueberry cheesecake, chocolate silk pie, apple pie, peach-strawberry pie, and my favorite cupcake a la Forky! Ok, so I’ve been a little down on this food lol. I may be spoiled, my husband is a grilling and smoking master! So, I may be biased. You’ll have to decide for yourself! And while the mass-produced food was not the highlight of my meal, it was certainly worth it to experience the feeling of being a toy in Andy’s room!! We also tried a few cocktails…The Rodeo Mule, Snake Eye Margarita, Grown-up’s PB & J, and the Whinnyin’ Whiskey Lemonade! The Mule and PB & J were by far the best! In fact, we didn’t finish the other two…Did I mention, I felt like I had a brick in my stomach?! That may explain why I left alcohol on the table!… For me, by far, it’s the immersive experience we had that will bring me back to this restaurant. It is truly like being in Andy’s room! And yes, Andy makes an ‘audible’ appearance, and everyone has to freeze. I can imagine being a kid and how cool this experience would be! Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Hollywood Studios is a dining experience that has its pros and cons. The menu options are abundant, and the immersive atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in the movie. However, the price tag may be too steep for some, and the wait times can be long. The mass-produced food may leave you feeling full, and the alcohol drinks may not be up to par. But overall….the Roundup Rodeo BBQ can be a fun experience! As with any dining experience, it’s essential to go in with an open mind and be willing to try new things. As the saying goes, “Yeehaw, giddy-up cowboy, and give it a go!”
