Cheap Things To Do In Orlando: Vol. 1
First up is the spot that actually kicked this whole series off….
The Anchor: Primrose Lanes (Milk District)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Primrose Lanes is one of my absolute favorite reasons to love the Milk District. It’s not just a gorgeous, retro-chic bowling alley; it’s basically a budget playground disguised as a boutique sports bar. And the food’s legit!!
In fact, they have 2 gorgeous bars, delicious food/cocktails, arcade, karaoke, roller rink, and historic bowling lanes. Did I mention the vibe? It’s a vibe on a vibe!
- $10 bowling, Monday and Sunday. To be clear, $10 per hour per person. Plus $3 shoe rental.
- All-day happy hour on Monday, plus a standard Mon-Fri 3–6 PM happy hour featuring $5 off cocktails, wine, and liquor.
- 2-for-$20 martinis, every single day. Split it with a friend (or drink both, no judgment here) and you’re in for ten bucks.
Local Tip: Monday is secretly the absolute best day to go. You get the $10 bowling and Happy Hour!

The Pairing: Beefy King (Milk District)
Since you’re already in the neighborhood, head over to Beefy King. This is a true Milk District institution that has been slinging roast beef since 1968. That’s nearly 60 years!! You don’t stick around that long without a reason.
Prices still start around $4.50, which in 2026 feels like a complete formatting typo. Grab a classic roast beef sandwich, load up on some tater tots, and thank me later.

The Happy Hour Heroes (Downtown)
Downtown Orlando is stacked with weekday happy hours that don’t get nearly enough love:
Acropolis Greek Taverna
From 3–7 PM, Monday through Friday, they do $2 off all bar drinks and 50% off appetizers. It is the perfect spot to grab a giant gyro and a cold drink without denting your wallet.
Bonus Local Tip: They offer 2 hours of free validated parking in their garage (just scan the QR code from your server on the way out), which solves the absolute worst part of going downtown!

Tacos My Guey
They run a Taco Tuesday special—Chips/salsa, 3 tacos, and a drink for $10.99! They also have $2.99 beers and a killer $3.99 margarita specials every single day from 3–6 PM. (Plus, they bring it back from 10 PM to midnight for the late-night crowd!)

The Winter Park Move: Garp & Fuss
Winter Park doesn’t always feel like a “budget-friendly” neighborhood, but Garp & Fuss keeps it incredibly real. Tucked away in a gorgeous, brick-walled space with a stunning glass-roofed solarium, they run a stellar happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 4–7 PM. We’re talking $5 select beers and wines, $6 Old Fashioneds, $7 cocktails of the day, and discounted appetizer specials. It is absolute proof you don’t need Park Avenue prices to have a fabulous Park Avenue evening.

The Taco Fix: Gringos Locos
If tacos are non-negotiable for you (same, honestly), Gringos Locos runs several summer specials (check the gram) and a happy hour from 4–8 PM that is worth building your entire night around. Order the Double D — a soft tortilla and a hard shell taco held together with a layer of refried beans — and let’s all collectively thank whoever came up with that concept.
