There is over 200 restaurants on Walt Disney World property. Should Disney World’s Narcoossee’s be on your ‘must-do’ list? Read on to see if it’s worth your time and money.
What to expect at Narcoossee’s
Narcoossee’s is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian resort, so you can expect Victorian-style elegance mixed with the glitz of Palm Beach’s golden era. It is beautiful and magical…everything you’d expect from Disney’s flagship resort.
That being said, you know this restaurant comes with a higher price tag. Also, if you’re not staying at this resort it will take some effort to get to it. Narcoossee’s is located on the property of Grand Floridian, but is a free standing location, not located inside the resort!
If you arrive by car, bus, or monorail you will have a 5-10 minute walk to arrive at Narcoossee’s. It’s located at the back of The Grand Floridian on the water of The Seven Seas Lagoon. However, if you arrive by boat from Magic Kingdom, it’s right next door to the boat dock.
Narcoossee’s has been recently remodeled (Spring 2023) and features a coastal relaxed atmosphere. Which is perfect for the waterfront setting with its spectacular panoramic views!
This is a dinner-only restaurant and is open daily at 5:00pm. They do have a bar seating on a first come first serve basis. Also, keep in mind there is an expected dress code, this is a Disney Signature Dining experience.
Narcoossee’s is certainly one of the most beautiful Disney World dining spots with amazing water views! And since Narcoossee’s sits on the Seven Seas Lagoon, you’ll be able to see the Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks….If you time it right!
So what about the food?! The menu features coastal cuisine from the sea and land. You can expect fish, shrimp, lobster tail, and steaks. And you know it’s going to be $$$! Click here to see the menu.
If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, Narcoossee’s is a 2-credit table service restaurant. Click here for reservations.
Here’s a look at what we had:
The Empress Lime Gimlet cocktail ($17.00) was very good and balanced! It’s made with Empress 1908 Gin, Rockey’s Botanical Liqueur, Cane Sugar, and Lime Juice. I would recommend that, if you like gin!
For an appetizer we got the Ocean-Inspired Charcuterie Board ($28.00). This consisted of: Ahi Tuna Pastrami – Charred Octopus – Lobster Sausage. The Ahi Tuna Pastrami was really tasty and interesting. It was something I’d never had before! But the other two items were not anything I would say you need to try. So, I would not recommend the Ocean-inspired Charcuterie Board…
I also got the Yuzu-Ginger Salmon with Coconut Jade Rice and White Asparagus ($46.00). Everything on this plate was good….but not the “best” salmon I’ve had. It was small and slightly over cooked for my taste. But, I wanted something light and fresh, and this was.
However, if you’re wanting something a bit more decadent, go for the Scallops and Gnocchi! I hear that’s very good! We skipped on dessert since we were planning to visit the Enchanted Rose Lounge, located inside The Grand Floridian Resort.
My Opinion of Narcoossee’s
Yes, this restaurant is beautiful and I loved being on the water! And the service was good. However, the food we ordered was just alright. Nothing was very notable or something we need to have again. But that’s not to say you won’t order something amazing!
Another thing to keep in mind is the time and effort it may take you to get into Narcoossee’s. We were coming from another resort, and we found this restaurant quite an effort to get to. Definitely keep that in mind if you’ve had a full day at the parks, have small children, or elderly with you.
On the other hand, I can imagine being here for the fireworks show would change my perspective. I’m sure that would be phenomenal! I hear they dim the lights and pipe in the music from the show. And you can go out on the porch to take in a better view.
So my feelings are mixed…you’ll have to way the cost and effort to get here and make your decision based on your needs! Perhaps I’ll give it another try on my next Monorail Crawl!
I hope this was helpful! Thanks for reading!
