Maitland Social is a new food and entertainment spot located just off Orlando Ave. (360 E. Horatio Ave. Maitland). This spot has a food hall vibe with a small group of vendors.

What To Expect At Maitland Social
Each vendor has their own dining space, indoor and outdoor, and all share a common corridor with restrooms. Open daily, but hours may vary between vendors.
When we visited Maitland Social there was 3 vendors open: Pizza Bruno, Wave Sushi, and Foxtail Coffee. There is also an Urban Body Fitness Center onsite….but we went for pizza and sushi!!
This is Pizza Bruno’s 3rd location (Curry Ford & College Park) and features their delicious wood fired noe-Neapolitan pies! This pizza does not disappoint and they use only the best ingredients. Owner/Bruno Zacchini knows pizza!
However, I wanted to check out Wave Sushi and their Sushi Hotdog! Maitland Social is now home to Wave Sushi’s second location. The founding location is located in Mount Dora. Wave Sushi became known for putting a modern twist on sushi with its sushi burgers and sushi hotdogs! So, I had to check it out!
We had to order their Poke Hotdog as well as Krab Rangoon Fritters and a more traditional roll, the Dancing Krab Roll. Everything was super fresh and tasty. In fact, my son said the Krab Roll was the best he’d had.
The Poke Hotdog was huge! Definitely sharable…and for $25, it should be! The fritters were excellent, as well. Other notable menu items: Sushi Tacos, Sushi Pizza, Sushi Burgers, and Sushi Burritos. I may need to go back and try one of those burritos!
I do need to say, I felt these items were on the pricey side for a fast casual dining experience(over $75 for 2 people). And this food stall is small, noisy, and not the most comfortable chairs…..so keep that it mind, if you choose to visit.
Maitland Social is still growing and will also be welcoming Thrive Cocktail Lounge….this will be their second location. The other being downtown on Orange Ave.
However, I hope this Thrive Cocktail Lounge is better than the downtown spot! Perhaps we went on a bad night or just had a bad bartender. The cocktails were so awful we left them unfinished and the food we ordered was not very good either. If you are a “cocktail lounge” you must make amazing cocktails! But, I’ll give this Maitland Social location a shot…possibly opening in the next few months.
Maitland Social is a fast casual spot and it has some really delicious food. So, if you’re in the area and have a sushi or pizza craving, you may want to check it out. Be sure to check out the other food halls in and around Orlando!
