Calling all foodies! The newest food hall, The Great Southern Box Company, has hit the Orlando scene. You can find this culinary collective in the heart of the Packing District in Orlando.
If you’re not familiar with food halls, they usually consist of indoor/outdoor seating areas with lots of diverse food stalls. The Great Southern Box Company is a 13,000 sq. ft. space with 11 food vendors, 2 outdoor patios, 1 large cocktail bar, and an event space. There is also an enormous new ‘complimentary’ parking garage, just steps away! It’s a beautiful and comfortable space!
The Great Southern Box Company is located in what’s called the Packing District, which is just west of College Park. The address is: 2105 N Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32804. Hours of operation: Sun-Thurs. 11am-9pm & Fri.-Sat. 11am-10pm.
This ‘must visit’ food & beverage spot has been in the works for over 5 years! The Great Southern Box Company is part of a $700 million project that salvages historic buildings in the Packing District. Spearheaded by the Dr. Phillips Charities District, this is one of the largest redevelopment projects in Orlando!
The Great Southern Box Company Vendors
There will be 11 unique vendors that surround the beautiful statement bar (28 Groves) at the center of it all. We tried Braza Brazilian Steakhouse. We got the picanha steak with fries and empanadas. Everything was really good!
There are lots of options to choose from…Antica Pizza, Kayos Jamaican Grill, Eighty Twenty Burgers, Dancing Yeti Nepalese & Indian, and A’lo Cubano Kitchen….to name a few.
This is a diverse collection of food from all over the world. Such a great place to try something new and delicious! You’ll order at each individual counter and get a text when your food is ready.
At the center of The Great Southern Box Company is the 28 Groves Cocktail Bar. This 40-seat elevated cocktail bar is named after the 28 orange groves owned by Dr. Phillips, who’s legacy drives the Dr. Phillips Charities.
28 Groves features unique cocktail creations, draft beer, wine, and mocktails. Some of their unique cocktails: Bergamot Martini, Pimento Margarita, Snap Pea Mojito and Rhubarb Sour! I just adore an unusual cocktail! So I got the bergamot martini, which was delightful.
If you’re looking for a casual fun place to go, you need to add this spot to your list! There’s something for everyone and the vibe is comfortable and inviting. Check their website for upcoming events (live music, trivia night, music bingo) and a full list of vendors. You can also place a to-go order for food.
This space also has 2-outdoor seating areas (partially covered) as well as several chairs with umbrellas. There is also a grand event space, which would be great for for a variety of occasions.
If you’re looking for something to do, you must check out The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall. I think you’ll really enjoy it! I know we did and we plan to make it a regular place to go.
