What to expect at Norigami Sushi

There is something special about the ‘art’ of sushi. I actually find all chef’s to be artists. Anyone who can bring a handful of ingredients together and turn it into something delicious, beautiful, and memorable is an artist to me!

Since Norigami Sushi is an 8 seat counter served dining experience, you get up close and personal with your sushi chef. Watching each roll get delicately made, makes it more fun..and delicious!

Norigami is located inside a food hall called Plant Street Market in Winter Garden. You will definitely need a reservation. We were able to get ours the morning of. They are closed on Mondays. Open Tues-Thurs. 5-9. Fri-Sun 12-9:30. For reservations, Click here.

Plant Street Market Winter Garden

This is sushi done in a casual pick your own pieces, or Omakase tasting (chef picks). You can pick from various cuts of fish and shellfish and then select as either nigiri, sashimi aburi or temaki.

Some of our favorites are the aburi (torched) scallop, blue crab nigiri, bbq eel nigiri, and the popcorn hamachi (crudo appetizer).

The popcorn hamachi was one of the most unique, beautiful, and delicious dishes. Popcorn and fish is not something you would think would work together…but it did!

We also got the A5 Waygu sashimi. They even show you the cow’s certificate. If you haven’t had Waygu before, it’s a beef from Japan that is raised in VIP conditions. They have a strict diet that makes the beef heavily marbled and tender. It’s the ‘Cadillac’ of beef.

Norigami Sushi has received a Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking award. This award has been given to a small amount of restaurants in and around Orlando, so you should absolutely check this spot out!

If you’re looking for more high quality sushi experiences, check out Edoboy in the Mills 50 District in Orlando. This standing sushi bar is one of our favorite dining experiences!
