I love Winter Park Village in Orlando, it’s a hub of entertainment, shopping, and dining. It’s the perfect setting for your Orlando date night or a girls’ night out. And with the addition of these two beautiful hot spots: Flutes Champagne Bar and Chayote Barrio Kitchen, you have even more reason to head to this Orlando destination.
The perfect setting to start your Orlando date night is Flutes Champagne Bar…this sparkling addition to the Winter Park Village is a stunner! This upscale bar offers a nice selection of champagnes and sparkling wines. Whether you’re a champagne connoisseur or a bubbly enthusiast, Flutes will have something to tickle your taste buds. And don’t worry, you can choose from just a glass or a bottle, or even a half bottle.
I got a delicious sparkling Rose from Italy, the Cuvee Aurora. I love a pink bubbly! Hubs got, ‘Ora Alba’ Grand Cru Champagne. Both were by the glass. The staff are very knowledgeable and were ready to help us make our decisions. They also offer red and white wines, as well as draft beer.
We were able to have our champagne before our dinner reservation at Chayote Barrio Kitchen. And since they are right next door to each other, it was perfect! That’s the great thing about Winter Park Village, everything is right there! And they have complimentary valet, if you can’t find a parking spot. Don’t forget your cash to tip!
Our experience at Chayote, was nothing short of fantastic! This new Latin forward restaurant uses Latin flavors with a modern twist. They call it Nueva Mesa Latina, the “New Latin Table”. Which “celebrates the heritage and culinary footprint of all Hispanic cultures and drives LatinX cuisine to its next stage, blending both traditional and current flavor trends into a whole new genre”, says celebrated Chef Mario Pagán.
We started with the crab cake and the foie gras. The foie gras was the best I’ve ever had…and perhaps the most unique…the foie gras was served on a rum banana! Yes, it sounds weird, but it was so good! I love foie gras, so this was exceptional to me…if you’re not into foie gras you may want to pass. The crab cake was chocked full of crab and was perfection! Absolutely one of the best around!
From the bar we ordered the Fashionista, the ‘New Old Fashioned’, and I got the ‘Floral Gin & Tonic’. This gin & tonic may make my ‘best of 2023’ cocktail. Hands down the best gin and tonic I’ve had. Ever.
One of the special things about this restaurant is their custom-built rotisserie. On this visit, there was nothing spinning, but I hope to see it next time we go. For my main I chose the Lobster Thermidor, which was very good, but not the best ever. Hubs got the Lamb Confit, which was delicious! Both had beautiful presentation, as well as unique accompaniments.
Let’s talk about the desserts! Or little works of edible art… Goat Cheesecake and Tres Leches Pistachio Cake. OMG. Both were beyond what I was expecting.
I highly recommend you try this restaurant, it’s perfect for your girls’ night out or a date night. From the service to the food, you can ‘feel’ and ‘taste’ the love they put into your experience. And if you haven’t heard of Chef Mario Pagán…click here to read a little about him!…And grab a reservation while you’re there!
If you’re needing a girls’ night out or want some new spots for your Orlando date night, you need to head to Winter Park Village and visit these two spots. Start your evening with a glass of bubbly at Flutes Champagne Bar, then head next door to Chayote Barrio Kitchen for a memorable meal! You’ll be glad you did!
