If you’ve ever found yourself wandering through SeaWorld Orlando around lunchtime, sweating through your favorite linen tee and wondering where to find a meal that doesn’t involve a standard quick-service chicken tender basket, I have the ultimate insider secret for you.
Tucked right next to the Shark Encounter attraction is Sharks Underwater Grill and Bar—and it is easily one of the most unique dining experiences in the entire city.
Imagine enjoying a meal while massive sand tiger sharks, nurse sharks, and sawfish glide right past your table. It is equal parts peaceful, mesmerizing, and delicious!
Whether you’re planning a full family vacation or just looking for a cool, relaxing date night spot after riding Mako, here is my honest Sharks Underwater Grill SeaWorld review, including the exact table strategy you need to know before you go!

The Vibe: An Immersive Oasis
The second you walk through the doors, the bright, bustling Florida sun completely melts away. The restaurant is beautifully dark and backlit by the deep blue glow of a massive, floor-to-ceiling shark aquarium that spans an entire wall of the dining room.
Because the seating is tiered, practically every table in the house gets a fantastic view of the marine life. It feels sophisticated, calm, and incredibly exclusive—making it the ultimate way to take a breath and recharge during a high-energy park day.
Since this beautiful place is in SeaWorld Orlando, you will need a park ticket. You can also get an advance reservation for this restaurant, however, I’ve always been able to walk-up and get a table. If you’re interested in getting a park ticket or advance reservations, click here.
The Menu: What to Order at Sharks Underwater Grill
Over the years, I’ve eaten at this spot several times, and always enjoyed it. But, on this last visit, I was very impressed by the food quality. Sharks Underwater Grill has definitely upped their game!
Here are my personal menu highlights:
- The Appetizer: You cannot go wrong with the Coconut Chicken Tenders served with a sweet chili dipping sauce.
- The Main Event: If you’re craving seafood, the Pan-Seared Salmon is incredibly tender and beautifully plated. For meat lovers, the Grilled Lamb Chops is surprisingly upscale for a theme park spot—cooked to a perfect medium-rare and it was delicious! Another favorite is the Kobe Beef Sliders with Truffle Parmesan Fries!
🦈 The Ultimate Table Strategy Insider Tip: When you check in at the podium, you can explicitly ask for an aquarium-side table. Keep in mind that requesting a seat directly against the glass will usually tack on an extra 15–30 minutes to your wait time, but trust me—it is worth every single second. Watching a shark cruise by just inches from your dinner plate is an unforgettable experience.

What’s a meal without a refreshing cocktail?! They have a full bar but I recommend the Shark Tooth: Gray Whale Gin, sparkling wine, St. Germain, lemon juice, simple syrup. (A portion of Gray Whale Gin profits support Marine Conservation & environmental efforts.)

My Must-Haves for a SeaWorld Park Bag
SeaWorld is a massive park with a lot of walking, and because you’re bound to get splashed on a few rides (looking at you, Journey to Atlantis!), staying comfortable is everything. Before you head past the turnstiles, these are the exact Amazon lifesavers I always recommend packing:
- Universal Waterproof Phone Pouches: A total must if you’re riding the water coasters or sitting in the splash zone at the Orca Stadium.
- My Go-To Portable Fan: This keeps me cool while waiting for the outdoor coaster lines before slipping into the air-conditioned bliss of the grill.
- Ultra-Compact Portable Charger: Between capturing videos of sharks and checking ride wait times on the SeaWorld app, your battery will drain fast. This little charger slides perfectly into a small belt bag!
The Final Verdict: Is Sharks Underwater Grill Worth It?
Whether you are a seasoned local or visiting Orlando on vacation, Sharks Underwater Grill is a resounding yes. It elevates a standard park day into something truly special, offering great food, flawless views, and a much-needed break from the elements.
Advanced dining reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak summer seasons or weekend festivals, so be sure to secure your spot via the SeaWorld website or app ahead of time!
