You know me, always on the hunt for delicious eats, and let me tell you, I recently discovered a gem in Downtown Orlando that you have to check out: Talay Thai Orlando. If you’re anything like me and love a good Thai meal, but with a fresh, elevated twist, then get ready to add this to your must-try list!

Talay, which actually means “sea” in Thai (how cool is that?!), is riding the well-deserved wave of success from chef-owner Fin Patsawee. She’s the brilliant mind behind Isan Zaap, and with Talay, she’s showcasing the incredible flavors of Thailand, with a special emphasis on seafood. Think sophisticated vibes that wouldn’t feel out of place in a swanky resort, right here in our North Quarter.
Why You Should Visit Talay Thai Orlando
Now, let’s talk about the good stuff – the food! While they have classic Thai dishes, the seafood focus truly shines. Here are a few things that caught my eye and some estimated price ranges (because, you know, menus can shift a tiny bit!):
- Goong Ma Kam ($26.00): Tempura king prawns with a delicious tamarind sauce, fried shallots, and smoked chilies. Sounds like a flavor explosion, right?
- Goeng Phed Ped Yang ($27.00): Roasted duck in rich red curry, tomato, Thai basil, and creamy coconut milk, this is calling your name!
- Khao Pad Pu ($26.00): Crab lumps with jasmine rice, egg, and scallion. A luxurious take on a classic fried rice!
- Pad Thai (starts around $17.00): Of course, you can’t go to a Thai place without trying their Pad Thai! They do a fantastic job with this classic, with thin rice noodles, egg, bean sprouts, scallion, and peanuts.
- Pineapple Fried Rice (starts around $17.00): A staple, done right, with your choice of protein (chicken, beef, tofu, vegetable, shrimp, or seafood) jasmine rice with pineapple, egg, onion, scallion, raisin, cashews, curry powder, and Talay’s signature wok sauce. So delicious!!
Beyond the food, the cocktails were fabulous and the vibe is just lovely. It’s quickly become a buzz-worthy spot, and you can totally see why once you step inside. Did I mention there’s a hidden bar located inside?! It’s called NOIR…click to get the details!
Ready to dive in? Here’s where to find this deliciousness:
Address: 861 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801
Parking: Being in the North Quarter, there’s street parking available, but it can be a bit tricky. Your best bet is to look for nearby parking garages. The 801 N Orange Avenue Parking Garage or the 800 N Magnolia Avenue Parking Garage are usually good options within a reasonable walking distance. Always check for signage and rates, of course!
