The Diamond Horseshoe Review: Magic Kingdom’s Big Summer Shakeup

If you’ve been hanging around Liberty Square lately, you might have noticed things look a little different over at one of Magic Kingdom’s most historic spots. The Diamond Horseshoe has officially packed up its famous family-style platters and ooey-gooey toffee cake for the summer season, trading in the dinner plates for cowboy boots!

This post has been updated from the “Diamond Horseshoe Review” to give you the deets on Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Review! So whether you’re looking for a spot to escape the afternoon Florida heat or wondering where on earth you’re going to get your pot roast fix now, here is exactly what you need to know about the current state of this classic opening-day venue.

The Big Summer Update: Enter Jessie’s Roundup!

Right now, you actually cannot eat here. From May 26th through September 8th, 2026, as part of Disney’s summer promotion, the saloon has been transformed into Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue!

They have completely cleared out the dining tables to turn the historic music hall into an interactive playground and dance party. It’s a limited-time celebration tied to all the anticipation for Toy Story 5, and it’s a massive win if you are traveling with little ones who need to burn off some energy.

What to Expect Inside:

  • The Atmosphere: It’s super high-energy, loud, and incredibly fun. Think of it less as a formal stage show and more of a giant, indoor, air-conditioned block party.
  • The Character Pals: You’ll get to see Jessie, Woody, and Bullseye leading the room in dancing, songs, and even some yodeling!
  • The Activities: Around the room, they’ve set up adorable western-themed activity stations. There are giant building blocks, a ring-around-the-horseshoe game, an oversized finger-trace maze, and a “spot the difference” picture board.

An Important Insider Tip: I’ve seen a ton of chatter online confusing this with a new character dining experience. To set the record straight: this is not a character meal! There is zero food being served inside right now. It is purely a walk-in entertainment and activity space. ☀️ Surviving the Summer Heat inside the Roundup

Because this is a high-energy dance party with the characters, your kids are going to burn some serious fuel—and you’re going to want to stay cool while cheering them on from the sidelines! Since it’s right in the middle of the brutal Florida summer, I never head into the parks without a few essentials in my park bag.

If you’re prepping for a summer trip, these are absolute lifesavers you can grab on Amazon before you go:

  • My Holy Grail Park Fan: This little rechargeable handheld fan is a literal lifesaver when walking between the air-conditioned pavilions.
  • Chilly Pad Cooling Towels: Wet these down at a quick-service water station, snap them, and wrap them around your neck. It instantly drops your body temperature.
  • Liquid I.V. Hydration Packets: Toss a few of these in your bag to mix into your free cups of ice water around the park. The Passion Fruit flavor is my personal absolute favorite!

Missing the Food? Where to Go Instead

If you had your heart set on that massive, all-you-care-to-enjoy feast, don’t panic!

Because The Diamond Horseshoe usually serves the exact same holiday-inspired menu as its next-door neighbor, you can still get your fix. You’ll just want to point your My Disney Experience app toward Liberty Tree Tavern.

You’ll get the same iconic roasted turkey, pot roast, stuffing, and—most importantly—that legendary Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake. Just keep in mind that because Liberty Tree is carrying the full weight of that menu right now, advanced dining reservations (ADRs) are tighter than ever. Definitely log on right at your 60-day mark!

Looking for an Adult Beverage with Your Meal?

One of the biggest perks of the traditional Diamond Horseshoe sit-down meal was slipping in for a comfortable, air-conditioned drink. You know Magic Kingdom is a “dry” park, with the exception of a few sit down dining spots.

But if you’re looking to track down the absolute best adult beverages inside the park gates, make sure to check out my ultimate guide to the 15 best theme park bars and cocktails in Orlando—I break down exactly what to order at Disney World and Universal parks too!

Or, if you just want a quick, iconic sweet treat nearby to cool off with, grab the legendary I Lava You Float over at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland.

Looking Ahead: When is Dining Coming Back?

If you’re planning a fall trip to see the pumpkins on Main Street, you’re in luck. Disney has announced that the table-service dining menu is expected to return to The Diamond Horseshoe in Fall 2026 once the summer promotion wraps up.

It’s always a beautiful, nostalgic spot to sit down, take a breath, and enjoy a comfortable meal. But for now, grab your cowboy hat, pack your cooling gear, and go enjoy the air conditioning with Jessie and the gang!

What do you think about this summer swap? Are you excited to see Jessie and the gang take over the old music hall, or are you counting down the days until you can dive back into a plate of pot roast and toffee cake?

Let me know in the comments below if you’re planning to check out the Roundup on your next park day! And as always, if you see me wandering around Liberty Square with my handheld fan in tow, please come say hi!
