Everyone fought for the Diamond Horseshoe Pop-Up reservation. Opening day was booked the same night reservations went live, and dates for parties of two disappeared through late November by the next morning.

So, of course, I went. Here’s the honest local take on whether Magic Kingdom’s new saloon lounge is worth your time and money.
The Quick Verdict
Yes, as a midday break. Maybe no, as a “real” meal.
The Diamond Horseshoe pop-up is a sit-down spot to rest your feet, get out of the heat, grab a cocktail and share a few small plates. The food isn’t groundbreaking, but a couple of dishes are legitimately great. Order smart, and it’s one of the best breaks in Magic Kingdom right now.
What Is the Diamond Horseshoe Pop-Up?
The Diamond Horseshoe has been in Liberty Square since Magic Kingdom opened in 1971. It used to serve an all-you-can-eat family-style feast, and this summer it became Jessie’s Roundup for Cool Kids’ Summer.
Now it’s back “in the saddle” as a limited-time lounge:
- Opened: October 4, 2026
- What’s served: Small plates, cocktails, mocktails, wine and draft beer. No entrées, no family-style feast.
- The vibe: Old West music hall with fall leaves and pumpkins, a classic standing bar, and the Wurlitzer self-playing piano on stage. No live show.
- Hours: Opening day ran 10:30 AM to 5 PM. It’s not open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
- End date: Disney hasn’t announced one. It will be open during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Heads up: You need valid Magic Kingdom admission (and a park reservation if your ticket type requires one). This is not a bar you can just pop into from the resort.

What to Order (and What to Skip)
Get These
- Glazed Sticky Ribs: The star of the menu. Tender, sticky, a little heat from the jalapeño crisps. These alone justify the visit.
- Charcuterie Board: Perfect with a glass of wine. Cured beef, cheddar, candied bacon, and that green chile cheese dip is the sleeper hit.
- Caramel Root Beer with Sweet Cream: Basically a melted root beer float that’s still fizzy. Kids and adults both win.
- Whinnyin’ Whiskey Lemonade or the Cactus Rose Margarita: Refreshing, balanced, and they actually taste like there’s alcohol in them.

Worth It If You’re Sharing
- Corn Fritters: These were so addictive! Great sweet corn flavor…perfect for sharing too.
- Queso with Burnt Ends: The burnt ends are surprisingly good theme park barbecue. The queso dish is shallow, though, so don’t expect a bowl.
Skip These
- Mini Hot Dog Platter: Four pastry-wrapped mini dogs and a handful of chips for $12. Only if you have a picky kid. (Not as bad as my Pickle Dog experience…)
- Rattler Rum Punch: Sugary, syrupy and you can’t taste the rum.
Insider Tip: I got the In Holiday Fashion cocktail…it’s a bourbon and rosemary-cinnamon situation…I loved it. But I love anything herbaceous! So beware if that’s not your vibe.
What It Actually Costs for Two
Here’s a realistic order for two people:
- Glazed Sticky Ribs: $16
- Corn Fritters: $12
- Charcuterie: $22
- Two cocktails: about $35 to $38
Total: about $87 to $89 before tax and tip, or roughly $110 for two once you add tax and a 20% tip.
For comparison, the old all-you-can-eat feast was $45 per adult before tax and tip. So you’re paying about the same, just for a lighter, boozier, more relaxed experience.
Budget move: Two small plates and two mocktails comes in under $45 before tax and tip. That’s a real sit-down break in Magic Kingdom for less than a lot of quick-service meals for two.

How to Get In
- Reservations: Book through the My Disney Experience app or Disney World’s website. Parties of one or two are the hardest to book right now.
- Try a party of three or four: There’s noticeably more availability for bigger parties, even if it’s just two of you.
- Keep checking: Disney often releases more reservations as a new spot ramps up, so look again starting mid-October.
- Walk-up waitlist: Yes, there is one. Check in person early in the day.
- Avoid party days: Magic Kingdom closes early to day guests on Halloween party nights, and the lounge isn’t open during the party.
Important Info: Standing only at the bar. Also, this is not a full bar! Beer, wine, and the specialty menu cocktails only.
Who Should Go (and Who Shouldn’t)
Go if: You want a sit-down, air-conditioned break with a cocktail, or you’re a local who’s tired of the same quick-service rotation.
Skip if: You want a full meal, you’re on a tight budget day, or you’re expecting a show. The piano plays itself.
The Bottom Line
The Diamond Horseshoe pop-up won’t change your life, but it is one of the best ways to take a break in Magic Kingdom right now. Get the ribs, get the fritters, get a whiskey lemonade or margarita, and sit and relax for a minute. Your feet will thank you.
