One of the best ways to beat the heat in Florida is to visit Aquatica Orlando, a beautiful water park. As you may know, Orlando has several options for water parks. The most popular ones being: Universal’s Volcano Bay, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach, and Discovery Cove (an all-inclusive day resort). All are fabulous, but Aquatica Orlando is definitely one of my families favorite places to visit! It’s a beautiful and spacious park with exhilarating water slides, lazy rivers, and close-up animal encounters. It is a Sea World owned park, so there are dolphins and tropical fish to admire. If you’ve never been, here are the top six tips for an amazing day at Aquatica!
6 Tips for an amazing day at Aquatica Orlando
1.) Arrive Early and Plan Ahead:
To beat the crowds and make the most of your time at Aquatica Orlando, it’s essential to arrive early. The park typically opens at 10 am, so aim to be there at least 30 minutes before opening to secure a good parking spot and get ahead of the lines. Additionally, take some time to plan your day by studying the park map and identifying the attractions and experiences you don’t want to miss.
2.) Rent a Cabana or Lounger:
For a more luxurious and comfortable experience, consider renting a cabana, suite or loungers at Aquatica. There are quite a few options, depending on what your needs are for the day. Cabanas provide a private space for your group, complete with lounge chairs, a mini-fridge, and a dedicated server. It’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and take a break from the excitement. Cabanas and loungers can be reserved in advance, so be sure to check the park’s website for availability and pricing.
3. Bring Water Shoes and Water Proof Pouch:
Water shoes are an absolute must. The Florida sun will be beating down on the walk-ways and they will be very hot. Not to mention walking into the bathrooms barefoot… gross! Also, bring a water proof pouch for your phone and credit cards. Even if you’ve reserved that cabana or rented a locker, it’s good to have your cards and phone with you. I may want a snack or a margarita!….and I don’t want to have to walk over to the lockers just to grab my phone or card. And then walk back when I’m done with them. So a water proof pouch is a must for me!
4.) Utilize the Quick Queue Pass:
To maximize your time on the water slides and attractions, consider purchasing the Quick Queue Pass. This pass allows you to skip the regular lines and enjoy priority access to the most popular rides. It’s a great investment if you want to experience as many thrilling slides as possible without spending excessive time waiting in line.
5.) Stay Hydrated and Sun-Protected:
With the Florida sun shining brightly, it’s crucial to stay hydrated and protect your skin-nobody wants a sunburn! Aquatica allows visitors to bring their own water bottles, so be sure to pack plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Additionally, apply and reapply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat, and consider renting a locker to store your belongings while you enjoy the water attractions.
6.) Take Advantage of Animal Encounters:
Aquatica Orlando is not just about thrilling water slides; it also offers unique animal encounters that set it apart from other water parks. Don’t miss the opportunity to interact with the beautiful and playful Commerson’s Dolphins! This close-up experience lets you spend time viewing and interacting with these amazing creatures. These encounters provide a memorable and educational experience for the whole family, but all participants must be 6 years or older. A professional photographer will be taking pictures, and an 8×6 printed photo is included. Prices start at $29.99 but may vary depending on the day.
