One of the best ways to beat the heat in Florida is to visit Aquatica Orlando, a beautiful water park. As you may know, Orlando has several options for water parks — the most popular being Universal’s Volcano Bay, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach, and Discovery Cove (an all-inclusive day resort).
All are fabulous, but Aquatica Orlando is definitely one of my family’s favorite places to visit! It’s a beautiful and spacious park with exhilarating water slides, lazy rivers, and close-up animal encounters. It’s a SeaWorld-owned park, so there are dolphins and tropical fish to admire. If you’ve never been, here are my updated top six tips for an amazing day at Aquatica!
6 Tips for an amazing day at Aquatica Orlando
2026 heads up: Aquatica’s after-hours neon party, AquaGlow, is running select nights now through September 26 — think glow lights, a laser show, and shorter slide waits from 8–11pm (early entry starts at 4pm)!
1.) Arrive Early and Plan Ahead
There’s two options depending on the day of the week. During peak summer (June–August) and weekends, get there 45 min. to 1 hour before gate opening. Traffic on Water Play Way backs up fast once the lot starts filling.
But if getting the pre-mo seating is NOT a top priority or you have a cabana booked, then I recommend 30-45 min. after opening….this beats the lines getting inside. (In my experience!)
Monday through Thursday are still your best bet for a mellower crowd, holidays aside. Buy your tickets online before you go so you’re not standing in the ticket line too — Aquatica’s running a buy-one-get-one-free deal on single-day tickets through July 31, 2026.
Park hours change daily and stretch later in summer (often 9am–8pm or later, with some nights open until 9pm for AquaGlow), so always double-check the calendar on the Aquatica app or website the day before you go at: Aquatica Orlando.
Take a few minutes before your visit to study the park map and flag the slides and experiences you don’t want to miss — it’ll save you a ton of backtracking.
2.) Rent a Cabana or Lounger
For a more luxurious and comfortable experience, consider renting a cabana, suite, or loungers at Aquatica. There are quite a few options depending on your group size and budget. Cabanas provide a private space complete with lounge chairs, a ceiling fan, a locker, complimentary bottled water, and in-cabana food & beverage service — it’s the perfect home base to relax and take a break from the sun.
Current starting prices (they vary by season and demand, so always check exact dates) at Aquatica Orlando cabanas:
- Walkabout Waters or Roa’s Rapids River Cabana (4 guests) — from $59.99
- Beach Front or Premium Cabana (4 guests) — from $99.99
- Roa’s Rapids Family Cabana or Ultimate Cabana (up to 10 guests) — from $199.99
- Premium Seating Loungers (set of 2, with shade canopy) — from $39.99
Cabanas and loungers can be reserved in advance, so book early — the Premium and Ultimate options are limited to just one or two per day and sell out fast.

3.) Bring Water Shoes and a Waterproof Pouch
Water shoes are an absolute must. The Florida sun will be beating down on the walkways and they get scorching hot — not to mention walking into the bathrooms barefoot… gross! Also bring a waterproof pouch for your phone and credit cards. Even if you’ve reserved a cabana or rented a locker, it’s good to keep your cards and phone on you.
I may want a snack or a margarita, and I don’t want to walk all the way back to the lockers just to grab my card. A waterproof pouch is a must for me!
4.) Utilize the Quick Queue Pass
To maximize your time on the water slides and attractions, consider purchasing a Quick Queue Pass. Aquatica currently offers two tiers:
- Quick Queue Unlimited ($29): unlimited priority boarding on Reef Plunge, Riptide Race, Whanau Way, Omaka Rocka, Taumata Racer, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, Tassie’s Underwater Twist, and KareKare Curl
- Quick Queue Unlimited Plus ($39): everything above, plus one-time priority boarding on Walhalla Wave and Ray Rush
It’s a great investment if you want to hit as many thrilling slides as possible without losing your day to standing in line, especially during summer’s peak crowds.
5.) Stay Hydrated and Sun-Protected
With the Florida sun shining bright, it’s crucial to stay hydrated and protect your skin — nobody wants a sunburn ruining their trip! Aquatica lets visitors bring their own water bottles, so pack plenty of water. Apply and reapply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat, and consider renting a locker to store your belongings while you enjoy the water attractions.

6.) Don’t Skip the Dolphin Encounters
Aquatica Orlando isn’t just about thrilling water slides — it also offers unique animal encounters that set it apart from every other water park in town. The old Dolphin Plunge slide has been reimagined as Reef Plunge, where you zoom through a transparent tube past the park’s playful Commerson’s dolphins and other marine life.

The statement to get to Aquatica 30 minutes before it opens at 10 am to maximize your time and avoid crowds is simply not true
In fact, I did this today. It too one hour just to get to parking then 1.5 hours to get to security.
My family arrived in the traffic 10 minutes behind me and were still sitting at the light to turn onto the main Aquatica road 1.5 hours.
They got out of line and I left the park.
It took me years to get them to agree to go and now I see a not visiting future.
