We made it to October, friends! Pumpkin season has officially hit peak momentum across Central Florida. The afternoons still carry lots of late-summer heat, and the evenings are bringing rain, but better weather is ahead!….right?!

This is easily one of the most action-packed months on our calendar. Fall events are running at full tilt, food festivals are popping up all over town, Hispanic Heritage Month wraps up with great food and music, Disney World just turned 55, and EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival is in its prime.
Things To Do In Orlando October Guide
To help you navigate the month like a seasoned pro, I’ve broken down my top recommendations into my signature site architecture pillars: Eat and Drink, Theme Parks, and things to do Beyond the Parks. Let’s dive into your ultimate October playbook!

Eat and Drink: Post-Magical Dining Finds, Pop-Ups and Neighborhood Hotspots
Magical Dining wrapped up at the end of September, and Orlando’s food scene has shifted to new neighborhood concepts, one-night pop-ups and outdoor weekend markets.
1. Mills 50 and Local Foodie Spotlights
- Udon Fifty: The handmade noodle house from Sonny Nguyen (the chef behind Domu and Tori Tori) is set to open October 22 in the former Dochi space at 1222 E. Colonial Drive. Comfort noodles just in time for sweater weather (or, you know, Florida’s version of it).
- Nomori: Next door at 1232 E. Colonial Drive, Akasaka and Tapanomi chef-owner Dong Shin’s new concept is still on the way. It’s expected to serve either Japanese cuisine or Korean tapas, and I’ll update you the minute it opens.
- Nomikai by Sushi Saint: If you haven’t been yet, Michelin-starred chef Michael Collantes’ Japanese-inspired restaurant and bar at ICON Park is serving sushi, steaks and cocktails Wednesday through Sunday nights. October is your window before the holiday crowds hit I-Drive.
- Aoba Omakase: A 12-seat wet-aged sushi counter with chef Kenny Sze opens October 20 in the North Quarter. Twelve seats. I’m keeping an eye out for reservation drops!
2. Secret Supper Clubs and Pop-Ups
I just had dinner inside a tattoo shop (seriously), and Orlando’s pop-up scene is on fire right now. My full supper club guide has the details, but here are the October highlights:

- Kapé Kaya: Kaya’s Saturday morning pastry pop-up has collabs on October 10 (Del Sur Bakery) and October 24 and 25 (Ayala Coffee), plus a regular edition on October 31. It runs 9:30 AM to noon, walk-ins only.
- The Mezzanine at Fallen Sparrow Tattoo: The monthly speakeasy supper club in Kissimmee. Follow the shop for the next date, because it sells out. I did this and loved it. I really hope they continue this special event! Check my Instagram for the sneak peek.
- The Curious Oyster: This roaming raw bar keeps popping up around Central Florida, at night markets, farmers markets and wine bars (its last Orlando collab was with Golden Hour Wine in Baldwin Park). Follow them on Instagram for their next shucking stop.
3. New Openings Worth the Drive
- Rye Row by Olde Hearth: Now soft-open at 1231 N. Orange Ave. in Ivanhoe Village, with sourdough, croissants and danishes. Pair it with Kapé Kaya for the perfect Saturday bakery crawl.
- Nomikai: New in Icon Park. A modern Japanese dining experience led by Michelin-starred Chef Michael Collates…I’ve been hearing good things.
- Koffee Sutra: Soft open. 707 E. Washington St. Orlando. Coffee and cocktail bar…say less!
- Vivolo Il Gelato: The Disney Springs favorite opened a second location at Flamingo Crossings.
Insider Tip: Soft openings mean hours and menus can still be shifting. Check their Instagram before you make the drive.
Coming in November: Eola Food Hall at 150 E. Central Blvd. downtown, with La Coolmena Tex-Mex Birriería and Croissant Gourmet already confirmed. Looking former food halls? Check this list!
4. Last Call at The Nook on Robinson
The Milk District’s beloved neighborhood bar The Nook on Robinson closes for good on, October 31. If it’s been your spot, go say goodbye this month.
5. Weekly Pop-Ups and Neighborhood Markets
Our local markets are back in full fall swing, which makes them perfect for grab-and-go treats and supporting local makers:

- The Milk District’s Tasty Takeover: Every Tuesday night, 6:30 to 10 PM, in the back parking lots of 2424 E. Robinson St. It’s Orlando’s original weekly food truck block party.
- Audubon Park Community Market: Every Monday, 5 to 8 PM, rain or shine, in the Stardust Video & Coffee parking lot (1842 E. Winter Park Road). Local produce, food, art and live music.
- 4Roots Farmers Market: The second and fourth Saturdays of the month, 9 AM to 1 PM, at 4Roots Farm in the Packing District. That’s October 10 and October 24. The 24th is also the 4Roots Harvest Festival, so check their schedule.
- Orlando Farmers Market at Lake Eola: Every Sunday, 10 AM to 3 PM. That’s October 11, 18 and 25 left this month.
6. October Food Events
- Orlando Latino Fest: The 4th annual free festival takes over Luminary Green downtown on Saturday, October 10. It’s a fun way to close out Hispanic Heritage Month.
- Harbor Nights La Dolce Vita: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel turns its Harbor Piazza into an Italian food-and-wine party on Friday, October 16, 6:30 to 10 PM, with live music and opera singers. It’s 21+ and ticketed. Very “pretend you’re in Portofino for the night.”
- José Andrés in Winter Park: The Winter Park Institute hosts the chef and humanitarian for a conversation on October 20 at 5:30 PM. Tickets start at $25.
- Central Florida Veg Fest: The 21st annual festival returns to Orlando Festival Park on Saturday, October 24, starting at 10 AM. Free admission.
- Day trip: Taste of Space at Kennedy Space Center: Space-themed fall bites are on the menu through November 8, included with admission.
7. Buy Your Tickets in October: November’s Big Food Fests
November is stacked with food and drink festivals, and the good tickets (and early-bird prices) don’t last. Lock these in this month.
Orlando Beer Festival (Saturday, November 14)
The 11th annual festival moves to Lake Eola Park this year.
- What you get: Unlimited samples from 150 tasting stations (beer, cider, seltzers, canned cocktails and more), live DJs and bands, giant games, a local vendor market and a food truck zone.
- Tickets: General admission early bird is $55 (2 PM entry), GA+ is $65 (1 PM entry), and VIP is $90 (noon entry, with a shaded VIP area, private restrooms, light bites and exclusive tastings). Designated driver tickets are available too. Prices go up as tickets sell.
- Good to know: It’s 21+ with ID, and dogs are welcome! Everything wraps at 5 PM.
Insider Tip: VIP gets you two extra hours and real bathrooms. At a beer fest, that’s worth the extra $35.
Cows ‘n Cabs (Thursday, November 5 and Saturday, November 7)
Winter Park’s favorite charity food-and-wine party is back for its 14th year in the West Meadow of Central Park.
- Tapas & ‘Tinis (Thursday, November 5, 7 to 10 PM): A smaller night of bite-sized dishes from local restaurants plus martinis, capped at 300 guests.
- Cows ‘n Cabs (Saturday, November 7): The big one, with 30+ restaurants and 60+ beverage vendors. Names already announced include Omo by Jont, Chapman, Salt and Cellar, Morimoto, Primo and The Reverie.
- Why it matters: Last year it raised more than $1 million for local organizations supporting Central Florida kids.
Insider Tip: Tapas & ‘Tinis is the one I’d grab first. With only 300 spots, it’s the easier night to actually talk to the chefs.
Beer, Bacon & BBQ Festival (Saturday, November 7)
The 10th anniversary edition takes over Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, 2 to 7 PM. Entry is free. Buy a Pour Pass for the beer tastings, and food is sold separately.
Florida Coffee Festival (Sunday, November 15)
Coffee and matcha sampling, cuppings and (yes) goat cuddling at Festival Park, 11 AM to 4 PM. Tickets are about $25. It’s the perfect recovery day after Beer Fest.
Fall Fiesta in the Park (November 7 and 8)
No ticket needed for this one. The 55th annual Fall Fiesta brings hundreds of artists and crafters, food vendors and live music to Lake Eola, 10 AM to 5 PM both days, and it’s free. Just know Cows ‘n Cabs and Beer, Bacon & BBQ land the same weekend, so plan your stretchy pants accordingly.
Theme Parks: Festival Season in Full Swing
October in the parks is fast-paced, high-energy, and takes a little strategy if you want to dodge the biggest crowds. Here’s what needs to be on your radar this month.

1. Walt Disney World Resort: Food & Wine Hits Its Peak, New Lounges and Sold-Out Parties
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival: The festival is in full swing across World Showcase and CommuniCore Hall through November 21, 2026. It’s the 30th year, so look for the “legacy” dishes brought back from past festivals, like the 1996 dumplings and the 2006 lamb chop. The Eat to the Beat concerts are included too, with The Fray (October 12 and 13), Ben Rector (October 19 and 20), Lauren Alaina (October 26 and 27) and Bowling for Soup (October 28 and 29) on the October lineup.
Insider Tip: Mid-week afternoons are your best bet for manageable lines. On an October weekend, hit the booths right when most of them open at 11 AM, before the evening crowds roll in.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: Running select nights at Magic Kingdom through October 31.
- Sold-out alert: Every remaining October party date is sold out. If you don’t already have a ticket, you can’t buy one at the gate.
- Day guest warning: Magic Kingdom closes early to regular day guests on party nights. The remaining nights are October 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31. On those dates, plan your evenings at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios instead.
The Diamond Horseshoe pop-up: Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square saloon reopened October 4 as a limited-time lounge with small plates and cocktails. Reservations are tough, but there’s a walk-up waitlist. My full review has what to order and what to skip.
Hurly-Burly at the BoardWalk: Disney’s new vaudeville-inspired venue took over the old Jellyrolls space on October 1. It’s walk-up only, all ages from 4 to 9 PM, then 21+ from 9 PM to 1 AM with live music.
More Disney dates to know:
- October 7: The Hallmark Holiday Pop-Up opens at Disney Springs.
- October 7 and 8: Booking opens for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge (opening July 1, 2027), to Annual Passholders first, then everyone. From what I saw on the 7th, you need to call: 407-WDW-PASS
- October 12: The 55th anniversary merch goes on sale online. It’s in the parks now at the Emporium and Creations Shop!
- October 14: Candlelight Processional dining packages open for booking. They’re the only way to guarantee a seat for the show (November 27 to December 30), and celebrity narrator nights go fast. Set an alarm.
- October 22 to 25: runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, with the half on Sunday, October 25. Yes, I’m running it, and yes, I’m going to the after party that night!
Insider Tip: Race weekend means early-morning road closures around the resort. If you’re not running, skip early park plans that weekend.
2. Universal Orlando Resort: HHN 35 Hits Its Stride and CityWalk Goes Wicked
Halloween Horror Nights 35: Universal’s landmark 35th anniversary event runs at Universal Studios Florida Wednesday through Sunday nights, plus an added night on Monday, October 12, all the way through November 1.
- Hours and houses: Gates open at 6:30 PM, and the scares run until 1 or 2 AM depending on the night. All 10 haunted houses are open, including fan favorites Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness and Stranger Things 5, plus Sinners and Hellraiser.
Insider Tip: Wednesdays and Thursdays are your money-savers, running in the mid-$90s to around $100 online, while Saturdays climb past $130.
More Universal dates to know:
- Universal Nights at Epic Universe: The new after-hours event returns October 17 and 24 (plus November 6 and 20). It’s $179 per person with limited capacity.
- Wicked Oztacular Spectacular: A free, one-day Wicked party takes over CityWalk on Saturday, October 24, noon to 7 PM, with Glinda and Elphaba meet-and-greets, film costumes and a yellow brick dance floor. No park ticket needed. It will be packed, so get there at noon.
- The Traitors: New Blood bar: Universal’s Great Movie Escape at CityWalk has a Traitors-themed bar with Scottish Highland decor and themed drinks. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday, 3 to 11 PM, and you don’t need park admission.
Beyond the Parks: Hispanic Heritage, Autumn Gardens and Fall Festivals
October brings some of the best outdoor community events of the whole year in Central Florida.
1. Hispanic Heritage Month Finale (Through October 15)
Hispanic Heritage Month runs through October 15, and the city’s programming is wrapping up with art and music. Stop by the exhibit at City Hall’s Terrace Gallery downtown, and make a point of eating at your favorite Hispanic-owned spots before the month ends.
Want to keep the celebration going? Buena Vista Social Club comes to the Dr. Phillips Center October 20 to 25.
2. Harry P. Leu Gardens: Botanical Cocktails, Jazz and Dog Day
Leu Gardens has three standout events left this month:
- Cocktails & Mocktails Workshop with Botanical Infusions (Friday, October 16): From 5:30 to 7 PM, learn to make herbal syrups, botanical garnishes and spooky-season cocktails and mocktails. It’s a hands-on class with limited spots, so grab a ticket early.
- Fall Jazz & Blues Concert (Saturday, October 17): Gates open at 6:30 PM and the music starts at 7.
- Dog Day (Saturday, October 31): Bring your pup in costume for the Spookiest, Funniest and Best Overall contests. Every dog gets a goody bag while supplies last.
3. Fall Festivals (Pumpkins Included)
- 4Roots Harvest Festival: Saturday, October 24, 9 AM to 2 PM at 4Roots Farm, with a farmers market, pumpkin patch, costume contests and a kids’ play zone.
- Avalon Park Oktoberfest: October 9 and 10, 5 to 10 PM, with a polka band, Alpine dancing and food trucks.
- Zoo Boo Bash: Central Florida Zoo in Sanford, October 17 and 18, 24 and 25, and 31, included with admission.
4. Big Nights at the Theater and Kia Center
- Hamilton: Final performances at the Dr. Phillips Center through October 18…I’ll be there!!
- Orlando Ballet’s The Sleeping Beauty: October 15 to 18 in Steinmetz Hall, with the Orlando Philharmonic. It’s my date-night pick of the month.
- Kia Center concerts: Weezer with The Shins (October 11), Journey (October 17), Teddy Swims (October 22) and Chayanne (October 31).

Pack Like a Pro: My October Essentials
The intense summer humidity is finally easing up, but Florida fall still calls for a few smart items in your park bag:
- Light Layer or Denim Jacket – Late October nights at EPCOT or Lake Eola can get surprisingly breezy once the sun goes down.
- Rechargeable Power Bank – Between photos, wait times, virtual queues and mobile ordering, your battery will drain fast.
- Compact Umbrella or Poncho – October has been wetter then August and hurricane season runs through November 30.
- Hydration Packets – Don’t let the cooler evening air fool you. Walking miles around World Showcase or the scare zones still calls for electrolytes.
- Comfy Walking Sneakers – Between Food & Wine laps and pumpkin patches, you’ll easily clear 20,000 steps.
